Versatility.....Personality....Communication

Process: All of the hand lettering I create is initially done
by hand, with a brush or a pen. After some initial
refinement, I scan the work, for use by my client or myself
as a rough or a comp. I like to refine the work in Photoshop,
which takes the place of ink and white paint on photostats.
Even at the comp stage a vector outline can be
created in Adobe Illustrator to accomodate placement or
color variations. Final art can be a flat scan or an outline,
as the client requests.

Pricing: I bill separately for the different stages of work
on the hand lettering as described above. Many designers
I work for offer hand lettering in as one of their design solutions,
and a comp price is all that is required. Final buy-out prices
are dependent on the final use of the lettering, which can
range from a logo for a local business, or a nationally distributed
product. I can provide full written estimates for any of these
stages at any time.

Here are some of my favorites, showing a wide variety of hand lettered stylings.
