The intermediate brush student continuing
with the pointed brush can explore its versatile
qualities, trying words and phrases in appropriate
expressive weights, widths and textures. We
will explore drawing objects with the pointed
brush, using it as an illustrative tool, and also
try abstract gesture making, or "free writing"
with gesture: the experience of uninhibited
movement--or dancing---with the brush. Bring
your favorite music to "dance" to, and be ready
to boogie! Several creative exercises can
open the door to innovative letterforms, from
which an original alphabet can be designed.
Casual "thrown" caps with an emphasis on
flourishing will be explored.
