We have developed a process of learning pointed and edged brush through a series of warms ups, both disciplined and "danced", using natural forms that are more forgiving than letters: birds, fish, flowers, leaves, feathers, petals and vines... anything that allows you to experience the tool without worrying about Roman form. When it is time to make letters, you can use the strokes you have learned and apply them with confidence.

This is a workshop that is packed with information and feedback, personal attention and lots of fun, from instruction on basic alphabets for each tool and designing innovative letter forms, to using both brushes on finished calligraphic pieces. Previous work with either brush will help the goal of producing finished work.
